Escape to the Chateau's Dick Strawbridge frustrated as he labels project 'not even funny'
Escape to the Chateau stars Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree built a strong following during the show's seven-year stint, with fans watching as the Château de la Motte-Husson was transformed into a home and thriving business before their eyes.
Escape to the Chateau: Dick counts the windows
Sadly, the series drew to a close last year, but Escape to The Chateau fans can still enjoy classic episodes of Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree's journey. One memorable Escape to the Chateau moment saw Dick lose his cool as he began to realise the scale of one of his projects on the hit Channel 4 series, which he branded "not even funny".
The talented couple's work was never quite finished throughout the nine series of Escape to The Chateau.
Working on such a huge and historic building took time, and Dick and Angel had to prioritise the most important tasks in their first couple of years.
One job that was overlooked over the years was replacing the many windows.
One of the more recent episodes saw Dick observing the work that would need to be done, and he didn't seem thrilled.

It was explained that the 150-year-old oak-framed windows were in need of a touch-up.
"The detail is phenomenal," Dick observed while looking at the windows.
"The amount of work that's gone into them, they're really quite special."
Despite their unique design though, he couldn't deny that they needed work.
"Having said that, they're falling apart," he admitted, before getting started on the huge project.
First, he had to count every window on the property. During the episode, he walks around the building to do so.
"46, 47, 48, 49... 59 windows," he counted before airing his frustrations: "This is not even funny."
Over the years, Dick had attempted to fix the worst-affected windows in the Chateau.

The husband and wife decided it was finally time to call in the experts to help with the monumental task.
Replacing the windows was also expensive, so the ones at the front of the building were prioritised.
However, Dick didn't have to struggle on his own as his builder pal Steve was on hand to help him out.
"When was the last time you took metal off windows?" Dick asked him.
"This will be my first time," Steve laughed, to which Dick responded: "Me too."
While the work took time and effort, eventually most of the job was completed.
The remainder of the windows were created off-site, so they were implemented a few months later.
Elsewhere in the episode, Angel was in her element designing the chateau's winter garden.
