Who is in the cast of The Boys on Amazon?
Billy Butcher - Karl Urban
New Zealand-born actor Karl Urban stars as the leader of The Boys, Billy Butcher in the new series.
Known as the man that every superhero fears, Butcher is a vigilante from London’s East End who makes it his mission to keep the superheroes in line.
Urban is best known for playing Bones in the 2009 revamp of Star Trek, but he has also played Eomer in The Lord of the Rings and Judge Dredd in Dredd.
The Deep - Chase Crawford
The Deep is played by Gossip Girl actor Chase Crawford, who told Express.co.uk in an exclusive interview that the character was different from any other he had played before.
He said: “This character is obviously a little bit darker and does some deplorable things.
“But as an actor I still want to switch it up and chip away at that perception of just being in the teen heartthrob of Gossip Girl - even though I loved every minute of it.
“It’s a good opportunity to also open up to a broader fan base - that comic book world. It’s more action-heavy, it’s a little more gritty - to say the least.”
The Deep is the Aquaman of The Boys’ world thanks to his powers being marine-based, but it’s fair to say this character is much darker than his DC equivalent.
Starlight - Erin Moriarty
Starlight is the newest recruit to the team of superheroes known as The Seven and is able to emit a powerful blinding light from her eyes.
The character is played by Erin Moriarty who is herself no stranger to comic book series, having also played a regular in Jessica Jones as Hope Shlottman.
Hughie Campbell - Jack Quaid
Jack Quaid plays the lead role of Hughie Campbell in the comic book-adaptation, who viewers are introduced to after the tragic loss of his girlfriend.
Quaid is the son of American actors Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan and has appeared in The Hunger Games films as Marvel.
He’ll next be heading to the world of Star Trek, after he was announced to be the voice of Ensign Boimler in Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Hughie’s dad - Simon Pegg
Star Trek and Shaun of the Dead actor Simon Pegg also stars in a cameo role in the programme as Hughie’s dad.
Pegg appears in the show as he was the original inspiration for Hughie in the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Homelander - Antony Starr

Viewers will have last seen Starr as Garrett Hawthorne in American Gothic and Lucas Hood in Banshee.
