Little Drummer Girl: ‘Not a clue’ Viewers declare they’ve ’given up’ on BBC drama
LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL aired it’s third episode tonight as Charlie Ross continued to work with Israeli intelligence to take down Palestinian terrorists.
The Little Drummer Girl: Charlie’s car is searched at the border
Tonight’s episode of the BBC drama saw Charlie (played by Florence Pugh) drive a car laden with explosives to a drop-off in Austria.
However, there was a lot else going on and viewers struggled to get their heads around it.
The episode saw Charlie make a move on Becker (Alexander Skarsgard) before retreating when she began to hallucinate his Mossad pals.
To make things even more baffling, he then turned into Salim/Michel (Amir Khoury).
I’ve tried so hard. Tired now
The confusing nature of the programme led viewers to feel completely out of their depth.
Subsequently, they took to Twitter to vent their frustrations with the adaption of the John le Carre novel.
One exclaimed: “I’ve tried so hard. Tired now! #littledrummergirl.”
Another questioned: “Am I the only one completely lost with this one? #littledrummergirl #bbc #noideawhatsgoingon.”
“No just I've just given up on it #littledrummergirl,” a viewer said.
A fourth confessed: “Not a clue and I've read the book, FGS #LittleDrummerGirl.”
“Giving up on #littledrummergirl,” a fifth tweeted.
Despite the plot confusing some viewers, many were quick to praise the settings and costumes of the drama.
“#Littledrummergirl I have no idea whats going on but I LOVE her dresses,” one wrote.
Another said: “Loving the aesthetic of #littledrummergirl.”
While a third chimed into say: “I don’t really know what’s going on in #LittleDrummerGirl - not concentrated enough - but I just like watching the cast, period details and frocks.”
Meanwhile, Charlie actress Florence has dropped a big hint about the show’s ending.
She told Radio Times: “We meet her on stage. She’s being watched from afar by this mysterious golden man and so she gets caught up in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as you do.”
“It’s a little bit heartbreaking,” she continued.
“But six episodes later, you end up in more or less the same place, with lots of people hurt.”
Will she end up back where she started, back on stage as an amateur actress?
Viewers will have to wait and see.
The Little Drummer Girl continues Sunday on BBC One.
