Kate to the stage alongside fellow contestant Dr. Ranj Singh, 38, dazzling the press who were in attendance with her shimmering red dress.
As her name appeared on the screen, Kate gave a cheeky wink to the camera before she stated her stance on the show.
It hasn’t hit me yet, I’m getting quite used to it
“Definitely swapping the gritty headlines for the glitzy hemlines, that I am doing,” the newsreader confessed.
Kate then admitted: “I’ve not worn a skirt this short since I played netball in high school.”
Following the shock admission, the journalist then revealed whether she was ready to take to the Strictly dance floor.
“It hasn’t hit me yet, but I’m getting quite used to it,” Kate added.

The judge then followed up his remark making a shock confession: “In fact, I think my trousers have already split.”
