I am in shock. This is just surreal
As he rode a victory lap in the Velodrome draped in the Union flag, 6,000 delirious fans, including Prince Harry and his cousins Beatrice, Eugenie and Peter Phillips, raised the roof.
Fighting back tears as he was embraced by Sir Steve he said: “I am in shock. This is just surreal.”
His parents held aloft a banner which read: “Chris Hoy – the real McHoy”.
