Glenn Close mans up for new film role
ONE of Hollywood's biggest stars, five-times Oscar nominated Glenn Close has set herself a real challenge - playing a woman dressed as a man.
Close plays Albert Nobbs, a Victorian woman who moves to Ireland posing as a man to take a job as a butler.
The 63-year-old says the role has been the challenge of her career. As producer she has spent 10 years trying to turn the story into a film, called Albert Nobbs.
Now with a cast which includes Sir Michael Gambon, filming is well under way in Dublin. Miss Close said: "It is a real trick to bring off a period movie on the budget we have but so far so good."
