Dementia: Verbal tests can predict disorder
LANGUAGE and memory tests can predict when a person is likely to develop mild cognitive impairment (MCI) - a precursor to dementia.
Oxford University scientists followed more than 240 healthy elderly participants for up to 20 years.
Older people and those scoring lower on tests were more likely to develop MCI more quickly.
