FLASH FLOODING has left “hundreds of people missing” after the Laos dam collapse as horrifying footage shows villages under water.

Hundreds of people are feared dead after five billion cubic metres of water was sent crashing into six villages in Laos.
The hydropower dam in San Sai in the south-east of the country collapse leading to severe flash flooding.
The shocking footage shows a number of homes submerged in flood waters with residents forced to sit on the roofs for safety.
Some residents appear to be trapped in woodlands as the flooding completely covers the village.
About 6,600 people have been left homeless after the floods.
Boats have been brought in to try to help people evacuate as water levels rise.
Laos News Agency said “several human lives” were lost, adding “several hundreds of people are missing”.

An appeal for drinking water, food, clothing and medical supplies have been made.
Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has postponed government meetings, state media said.
The hydropower dam, built by Xe Pian-Xe Namnoy Power Company (PNPC), is the subject of controversy.
