University student union building cleared due to BOMB threat, police reveal
A BOMB threat was received at a university student union and police evacuated the building.
Police have ordered the evacuation of the student union after a bomb threat
The building in question is named the Mountainlair at West Virginia University in Monongalia County, West Virginia, US.
Local police tweeted: “A bomb threat has been received for the Mountainlair. The building is being evacuated as a precaution. Please avoid the area.”
Chief Bob Roberts said the threat was called in.
They evacuated the building and have dogs investigating.
Local police updated students and said: “Inspection of Mountainlair complete, no danger found. Mountainlair has reopened.”
The world-famous University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), was evacuated in July amid fears a bomb had been planted.
Students were forced to leave their dormitories in the early hours of the morning due to the hoax call.
The Mountainlair, commonly called "the Lair" by students, is the three-floor student union building at West Virginia University.
