Train station on LOCKDOWN as passengers evacuated amid bomb threat
A TRAIN station in Toulouse has been evacuated after armed police swooped following reports of a bomb scare.
Police have been called to a bomb scare at Toulouse Matabiau station
Around 4pm today, the Toulouse Matabiau station was evacuated after a 'suspect package' was discovered near a fast food restaurant.
Police rushed to the scene and evacuated all staff and passanegers, placing the station under lockdown as officers investigated the reports.
An image taken at the scene shows a police car parked at a cordon with pedestrians and cyclists being held back behind the police line.

Delays to the train timetable have been recorded and traffic has gathered outside the station as enquiries continue.
Police have yet to release further details of the incident, but armed police and a bomb squad are reported to be in the station.
Rail provider SNCF tweeted: "Unattended baggage was detected at Toulouse station. The Vigipirate plan had to be applied.
"As a result, traffic was slowed down during the police intervention."
