Earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitude hits Taiwan
A 'STRONG' earthquake hit Taiwan this morning.
A strong earthquake has hit Taiwan
The quake hit at around 3.25pm local time (8.25am BST) around 33 miles from Taipei, home to 2.7 million people.
It stuck at a depth of 37 miles and measured 5 magnitude.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
The quake was initially registered at 5 magnitude by EMSC CSEM before being downgraded.
In February last year 116 people died when a 6.4 magnitude quake struck the island, known officially as the Republic of China.
