Worried passengers were moved from Namur Station in the Wallonia region after a telephone warning that two devices had been left in the building was received.
Police and firefighters were quickly on the scene and evacuated the station before setting up a security cordon.
A spokesman for the SNCB rail network said rail services were being shut down as a precaution and passengers faced long delays.
