HARD-right French Presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has hit out at “experts” who failed to see the positives of Brexit as she called the euro the “currency of bankers”.

The Front National (FN) leader took to her favourite means of communication - Twitter - to criticise the “knowledgeable” for predicting Brexit would be a “catastrophe”.
In a series of tweets this evening, the anti-immigration candidate also made her views on the euro clear, saying the currency has hurt “the people” who have had to live with no jobs and a lack of purchasing power because of it.
In her first tweet, she said: “The ‘experts’ and the ‘knowing’ who announced a catastrophe in the case of #Brexit were heavily wrong.”

She is believed to be referring to pollsters who have predicted she will lose September’s general election in the second round despite seemingly widespread support over her rivals.
Earlier today she received a blow to her campaign after two of Ms Le Pen's aides were taken in for police questioning with regards to whether Ms Le Pen improperly used European Parliamentary money to pay their salaries.

She claims the investigation is a “political plot” set up to undermine her campaign.
In another tweet tonight, she wrote: “The euro is the currency of bankers, not the people, who experienced a decline in its purchasing power and mass employment.”

The 48-year-old has said if she wins the presidency she will free France from the “tyrannies” of globalisation, Islamic fundamentalism and the European Union.
In an election campaign document published earlier this month, she promised to take France out of the eurozone and hold an EU Referendum - something she has been very keen to mirror after Britain voted to leave in June.

The former lawyer has been in the middle of a diplomatic row this week after cancelled a meeting with Lebanon’s Grand Mufti because she refused to wear a headscarf.
Tonight, she clarified her position, tweeting: “I said to the Grand Mufti of Lebanon that I would not wear the veil, and I have kept my promise.”
