Motorcyclist who ‘died’ in accident found to be STILL ALIVE in morgue fridge
FAMILY members who had travelled to a morgue to identify a relative were stunned to find the man was still alive.

Relatives of the motorcyclist, who was believed to have died in a road collision, discovered he was still breathing.
The South African victim, who has not been identified, was badly injured in a crash last month on a road in the southeastern province of KwaZulu-Natal, and was transferred to the morgue in Durban.

The man was was declared dead at the crash scene by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services paramedics and transported to Phoenix Mortuary where his body was placed in the fridges.
But the next morning, mortuary staff detected a pulse and breathing and rushed him to the Mahatma Gandhi hospital, where doctors and nurses managed to resuscitate and warm him.

However he later died, according to a health department official.
Kwa-Zulu Natal health authorities said they had launched an investigation into the incident.

The family were said to have been given counselling throughout the ordeal.
A provincial health department statement said: “The passing away of any individual is a painful experience.
“The department can confirm that an internal inquiry is under way.”
