Miami International Airport EVACUATED after ‘suspicious item’ found on concourse
MIAMI International Airport has been evacuated after security found a suspicious item on the concourse.
Civilians were escorted out as police investigated.
The object was discovered at a security checkpoint in concourse J, an airport spokesman claimed.
Travellers in the immediate area on the first and second floors were escorted out of the nearby area by airport security.
A large police contingent accompanied with K-9 units responded to the scare.
Rick Ramos, who was at the airport, said a "large police presence" closed off the street in front of the entrance.
Speaking exclusively to the Express.co.uk, he said: "The airport was closed for an hour or so – cops still all around.
The airport was evacuated following a security scare.

"I left because of all the other stuff happening today."
Mr Ramos added: "I think people were more annoyed than anything else. This is Miami.
