Train evacuated after ‘man threatens to blow up carriage’ as police put area on lockdown
A LEIPZIG train was evacuated in a bomb scare after a man 'threatened to blow up the carriage'.
Armed police were called to the train in Leipzig
150 passengers were evacuated from the train in the German city following the alleged bomb threat.
A man was detained by police on board the train, which was travelling from Munich to Berlin.
A police spokesman told Leipziger Volkszeitung that a passenger “freaked out” on board the Intercity Express 2302.
The man reportedly was "confused and aggressive" as he "threatened to kill passengers".

Witnesses claimed the man threatened to blow up the train as it travelled near Leipzig Messe station.
Eyewitness Hanne, 25, from Munich told Bild: "He appeared nervous, then he apologised and asked us to leave the train because he was about to release a bomb."
Police spokesman Andreas Loepki said: “Currently we are facing a static, well controlled situation.”

Police put the surrounding area on lockdown and ordered passengers not to leave.
Overground trains and buses were stopped sparking travel chaos in the region.
Special forces were called to the scene.
Police ruled out terrorism with local media claiming the passenger "flipped" after being asked to show his ticket.
Police have been on high alert in Germany following a spate of attacks across the country this summer.

On July 24, a Syrian asylum seeker blew himself up in Ansbach outside a music festival killing himself and inuring 15 people.
Nine people were killed when a teenager opened fire in a Munich shopping centre on July 22.
Days earlier four passengers were injured on a train in an axe attack near Wurzburg.
The 17-year-old axeman was shot dead dead by police.
