EU mission member killed in Kosovo
A member of the EU mission in Kosovo has been killed in a shooting in the tense, Serb-dominated north.
The EU Rule of Law Mission said the incident took place early on Thursday during regular staff rotation. Two of its vehicles came under fire from unknown people.
The statement did not disclose the name or nationality of the victim. It added that an investigation is under way.
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008, but it remains tense because Serbia and Serbs in the north do not recognise the split.
Kosovo and Serbia signed an EU-brokered agreement normalising ties in April.
