Kiev snow pictures 'a con trick'
Civic authorities in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev have been accused of trying to pull a fast one about their efforts to clean up from a paralysing blizzard.
A photo that appeared on the city's website Sunday after a snowfall of 20 inches showed three snowploughs clearing a street. The trouble is - the street was actually in Moscow.
Russia's ITAR-Tass news agency said that it was one of their photos taken last November and retouched to remove the name of the ploughs' Russian operator.
A Kiev city spokeswoman said the photo was a "regrettable technical mistake".
The photo was removed from the site, but not before some frame grabs of it were posted on Facebook, prompting comments such as "shame."
