Barack Obama: I’m ready to repeat Pakistan raid
Late actor SIR DONALD SINDEN was posthumously honoured at the Theatre Awards on Sunday (19Oct14).
The star, who died last month (Sep14), was named the recipient of the Gielgud Award for Excellence in the Dramatic Arts at a ceremony in London.
Sinden was best known for his theatre work and one of his early performances was in a production of 1947 play The Heiress, which was directed by Sir John Gieldud, who the award was named after.
Previous recipients of the accolade include Sir Kenneth Branagh, Sir Ian McKellen and Dame Judi Dench.
Sinden died on 11 September (14) aged 90 after a battle with cancer.
