The heartbroken dad of missing teen Jay Slater has said he is absolutely “baffled” about his son’s disappearance and is demanding answers from Spanish police.

Warren Slater, 58, and Jay's older brother Zak, 24, remain in Tenerife desperately looking for the teenager. The official search by police was called off at the weekend, but Warren and Zak have been pictured still scouring the island and the ravine where the apprentice bricklayer’s phone last pinged.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Warren asked: "Why did two grown men take a young boy to a valley to a bed and breakfast?

"You just don't disappear. It's just ridiculous that somebody can just disappear. He's a young boy, he's fit. He's fitter than us all put together. He's played football all his life, he's fit as a flea. You just don't disappear. I don't know ... it's just a mystery ... it's baffling."

Warren spoke out just hours after it was claimed Jay was scared when leaving the remote holiday rental in Masca, 20 miles from his accommodation, and allegedly told pals he could not return to it, the Mirror reports.

Spanish police have said the two British men, who are both understood to have been spoken to by officers before leaving the island, have no relevance to the missing persons investigation.

TikTok star pulls out of Jay Slater hunt

A TikTok star and his search party have pulled out of the hunt for Jay Slater, saying he has not received a penny from funds raised to help find the missing teenager.

Callum Fahim has spent two weeks in Tenerife looking for the nineteen-year-old Jay, after contacting his mother.

However, he plans to return to the UK on Thursday, after receiving death threats.

Landowners urged to check outbuildings

The former British police detective Mark Williams-Thomas has previously issued an appeal to any landowners in the area of the Rural de Teno Park where Jay Slater went missing to check outbuildings.

In a video filmed earlier this week and posted to X, Mr Williams-Thomas said: "

I want to make an appeal for landowners in the area of the rural park to check any outbuildings and land that they have in the hope that further searches will continue by volunteers in the area not yet searched."

Jay Slater could still be alive claims PI

Jay Slater could be alive “drinking water and eating plants”, a private investigator has claimed.

Army reservist and private investigator Juan García also told The Times that “the family should not give up hope” and that it was “too premature” to call off the police search.

The 53-year-old said he had “spoken directly to the family and offered my advice”.

Crowdfund donor makes sick joke about Jay Slater's mum

A anonymous donor who sent Debbie Duncan £5 on her crowdfunder to find her son Jay, left a torrid message for the desperate mum.

Along with the donation, the donor wrote: "Hopefully this will help Jays mam get her nails done when she’s over there to go with her tan".

Get Jay Slater Home crowd funder nears £50k

The crowdfunder set up by Lucy Law, a friend of Jay Slater's who was out in Tenerife with him before he went missing, is nearing £50,000.

The original target of £30,000 was to help fund the search for the missing apprentice bricklayer.

Posting on the fundraising page yesterday, devastated mum Debbie Duncan wrote: "Hi again everyone. Your generosity has been vast, and we are so grateful for all of your support and kindness during this unimaginable time for our family."As I said in my official statement, the Spanish police conducted a land search for 12 days which involved every resource they had available. Although the land search ended, the Spanish police still continue with their investigations into why Jay had travelled to the location so far away from his accommodation. We offer our sincere thanks to the Spanish authorities, who continue to follow lines of inquiries."In the meantime, we will continue to use part of the funds to support the volunteers working hard in the mountains to find Jay. We are currently looking after Paul Arnett, putting together a package of any equipment and essentials he needs and going up to do a drop for him. We are also supporting Callum Fahim and his group with accommodation and other essentials."The remaining funds will continue to be used to support the rescue teams who are tirelessly searching for Jay as well as our own expenses as we remain in Tenerife looking for our boy."We will continue to keep you all updated on the progress on our GoFundMe page, and we thank you for your continued support. Please keep sharing and supporting our fundraiser to help us bring Jay home."

Mother speaks of 'pain and agony' over the disappearance

Jay's mum Debbie said “words cannot describe the pain and agony we are experiencing” after the official search in Tenerife failed to trace the missing 19-year-old.

In a statement issued through the British overseas missing persons charity LBT Global, Ms Duncan said the land search for her son has been called off, but thanked the Guardia Civil who she said had “worked tirelessly up in the mountains where Jay’s last phone call was traced”.

Man who Jay Slater stayed with at Airbnb reveals why he has not spoken to TV detective

One of the two men who let Jay Slater stay at an Airbnb the night before he went missing is refusing to speak to former British detective Mark Williams-Thomas and claims "I haven't done anything wrong."

Ayub Qassim said he invited Jay back to his holiday home after a rave in Tenerife just hours before the 19-year-old disappeared on June 17.

Qassim, 31, who was previously jailed nine years ago for selling Class A drugs, told the MailOnline: "The only comment I have to make is that Jay came to the house alive, and he left the house alive."

"I let the geezer stay at mine because he had nowhere else to go, his friends had all left him."
