Mumbai attack suspect remains free
A hardline cleric suspected by India of masterminding the Mumbai massacre will remain free after Pakistan's top court ruled the government did not have enough evidence to jail him.
The Supreme Court's decision on Hafiz Mohammad Saeed could strain Pakistan and India's already brittle relationship at a time when they are trying to restart peace talks.
Saeed was one of the founders of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a militant group banned in 2002 and blamed for the 2008 attack that left 166 dead in India's financial capital.
The government had petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn lower court decisions that also found a lack of evidence against Saeed.
