Moscow: Blaze breaks out in military unit
Vladimir Putin has been dealt another crushing blow after footage showed a military warehouse in Moscow going up in smoke. The clip surfaced just hours after another blaze ripped through Russia’s only aircraft carrier, hampering the country’s ability to patrol the strategically crucial Barents Sea.
The clip was shared on the ABNewsReal twitter page, which said it showed a fire at a Russian military installation on 3-Ya Ulitsa Sokolinoy Gory in Moscow, Russia.
It explains: “In Moscow, a fire broke out in a military unit.
“According to preliminary data, the fire broke out in garage boxes located on the territory of a unit in the capital's Eastern Administrative District.”
The video, posted in the early hours of this morning, shows large numbers of fire engines and other emergency vehicles, swarming over the scene.

Aleksey Rakhmanov, head of the state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) which is overseeing a major refit of the carrier, said the fire was quickly extinguished and caused no casualties.
The vessel’s ongoing overhaul, which began in 2017 and was initially set to conclude last year, has been beset by delays and problems.
At least one person was killed and 12 others hurt after another fire in December 2019.

A year earlier, a crane crashed onto its deck after a floating dock holding it started to sink, causing unspecified damage.
Speaking in June, Rakhmanov said he expected the Admiral Kuznetsov to return to service in early 2024, almost three years behind schedule.
Meanwhile, the warehouse blaze is not the first to go up in flames since the start of the war on February 24.
Footage released on Telegram in June showed another, located barely 30 mile from the Ukrainian border, in Klintsy, Bryansk Oblast, engulfed in flames.
The facility was believed to house scores of important equipment for the conflict in Ukraine.
