Joe Biden lambasted for doing ‘too little, too late’ to deter Russian invasion
JOE BIDEN has been criticised for not taking timely action to deter the Russian invasion, a report has claimed.

The comments from a former White House staffer, claimed that incursions would be ‘catastrophic’ for US and allies in Europe. Ex-White House staffer and Ukraine policy expert Alexander Vindman lambasted Biden and his administration for doing ‘too little, too late’ to deter a Russian invasion into the eastern European country.
Speaking on Yahoo News’ Skullduggery podcast, Mr Vindman said: “The senior policymakers didn't seem to come around to this threat until really quite late.
“You only start seeing [them] take things seriously in the November and December [2021] time frame.”
He further said that the US should have been providing more support to Ukraine with “a lot more advanced military capability” to fend off a Russian invasion.
The criticism comes at the time when the 46th US President confirmed that there would be no Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia invades Ukraine in an attempt to deter conflict in eastern Europe.
Mr Vindman has now raised concern that Russia would soon begin cyberattacks against Ukraine that would escalate to military action spilling into the rest of Europe and America.
He said: “You could envision it as a legitimate scenario — this is not a far-fetched hypothetical — in which Russia conducts a major cyber offensive against Ukraine in preparation for its conventional war.
“It seeks to attack and disrupt Ukrainian critical infrastructure communications, power grids, all the kinds of utilities, but those things are not limited.
“They are absolutely going to spill over, as they have in the past, to Europe and to the US.

“Then the US is forced to respond. That's an escalation.”
Mr Vindman warned that an all-out-war in the Ukraine would have detrimental impacts across Europe and in the US.
He said: “It has the real probability of really destabilising Europe because thousands and thousands of refugees are going to be flowing into Europe.
“It has the real probability of potentially expanding with greater Russian aspirations, casting eyes on the Baltics or something of that nature.
“And all these things are really detrimental to US interests.”

Biden made his remarks on calling off the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
He said: “If Russia invades - that means tanks and troops crossing the border of Ukraine again - then there will no longer be Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.”
