US military police officer injured in Germany – horror crash near Einseidlerhof
ONE military policeman was injured in Germany after a US military vehicle was involved in a crash near Einseidlerhof.

Two cars were damaged in the incident and have been removed from the scene. The injured officer was taken to a local hospital and the road has since reopened.
According to local police the accident took place after an American military police patrol car moved out of its lane and rolled over.
German police and firefighters along with US military personnel responded to the incident.
Police from Kaiserslautern, to the east of Einsiedlerhof, tweeted about the incident.
They said: “In the Kaiserstraße in #Kaiserslautern #Einsiedlerhof there was an accident.
“Currently you have to expect traffic obstructions and a blockage there. Please drive around the area.
“An American military police patrol car came off the lane and rolled over.
“Two cars are damaged and one military policeman was slightly injured.
“The cars involved in the accident are currently being towed away.”

Einsiedlerhof is situated just east of Ramstein Air Base, a major US military facility.
This serves as the headquarters of the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE).
In a statement local police commented: “A US military police vehicle rolled over in Kaiserstrasse late on Friday morning.
“Presumably because the driver was briefly distracted, he came off the lane with the car.

“The car hit a parked car, then the patrol car overturned.
“A US military policeman was slightly injured in the accident.
“The vehicles are likely to have been totaled [written off].”
Ramstein Air Base was built by US and French forces in the aftermath of WWII as tensions with the Soviet Union surged.
It currently houses NATO’s Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) which has authority over all the alliance’s air assets.
Police estimate the incident cost “tens of thousands of Euros” in damage.
They added: “For the duration of the accident recording and until the damaged cars were towed away, Kaiserstrasse was closed until around 12:30pm.
“The fire brigade, rescue service, emergency services from the West Palatinate Police Headquarters and several US military police patrols were in action.”
Ramstein Air Base forms part of the Kaiserslautern Military Community, the largest US military community outside the United States.
The 86th Airlift Wing, which in total has more than 9,000 military and civilian members, currently operates out of the facility.
