Michael Schumacher latest: Friend reveals visits to F1 star - 'we're now closer than ever'
MICHAEL Schumacher’s former Ferrari boss Jean Todt and said he is “closer than ever” to the Formula 1 legend.

The FIA President, who recently revealed he watched the Brazil Grand Priz at Schumacher’s Swiss home, was Ferrari team principal in the early 2000s when the German driver dominated F1. And since Schumacher, 49, suffered serious head injuries in a 2013 skiing accident Mr Todt has remained close to the ex-champion and his family. Mr Todt said: ”The relationship is closer than ever. I've been very close with Michael before.

“I cannot speak for him, but I would say I know everything about him.
“He was also involved in my institute for brain damage and spinal cord damage before his accident.
“He was probably the biggest private investor.”
Schumacher holds the record for the most Grand Prix victories, with 91 wins.
He scooped seven F1 world championships, but not much is known of his condition since his traumatic 2013 injury.
Mr Todt has claimed he still visits the Schumacher family in Gland, Switzerland twice a month.
Mr Todt said: “I still have a lot of contact with Michael, see him regularly.
“For example, I watched the Grand Prix of Brazil, at Michael's home in Switzerland, after criticising the high advertising share on RTL [German TV station that shows Formula One].
“The whole family has a bond of friendship and trust.”
Meanwhile, Ferrari will hold an exhibition in honour of Schumacher to mark his 50th birthday, which is on January 3.
The Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy will hold the exhibition of the team’s most successful Formula 1 driver.
A Ferrari spokesman said: ”Schumacher has a special place in Ferrari's history."
