Michael Schumacher health latest: F1 legend 'still cries' - major health update reported
FORMULA One legend Michael Schumacher still cries and is capable of showing signs of emotion, according to comments attributed to “close relatives”.
Jacques Villeneuve: Michael Schumacher was 'fiercest' F1 driver
French magazine Paris Match said the 49-year-old’s tears were often triggered when he saw the landscapes around his home overlooking lake Geneva in Switzerland.
The magazine reports the Schumacher family are encouraged by the signs of emotion he remains capable of showing.
It quoted close relatives as saying: "When you put him in his wheelchair facing the beautiful panorama of the mountains overlooking the lake, Michael sometimes cries.”
Reports have previously claimed the seven-time F1 champion cries at the sound of his children’s voices.

Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra reported back in 2015 that the F1 star would well-up when he saw his children Mick, 19, and Gina, 21.
It said: “Sometimes a tear rolls down Michael's face. He cries when he hears the voice of his children or his wife.
"In recent times he has been able to recognise the familiar faces of his family but he cannot communicate with them.”
Health updates have been rare since Schumacher suffered catastrophic head injuries in a skiing accident in 2013, and the reports have not been confirmed.
He was placed in a medically induced coma following the crash which came a little over a year after he retired from racing.
He remains the most successful F1 driver ever, a record untouched since he retired in 2012.
His former manager Will Weber said this week he had “closed the chapter” on the F1 legend after a “period of mourning”.
He told German magazine Bunte: "I have closed the chapter on Michael after a long period of mourning, otherwise I would go crazy.
“We had the best, most successful time together and went through thick and thin together for 20 years."
Mr Weber said Schumacher had been a ”dear, faithful friend”.
But he stressed the accident highlighted the fact that “none of us have out destiny in our hands".
