If you go out to your car and you see damage to the paintwork and a note, you'd usually expect it to be from the culprit.

But on this occasion, it was the witness who left a note claiming to have spotted an unexpected vandal "attacking" the car.

Alicia Mastroianni, who recently relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, found a handwritten message on her car claiming to have proof that a turkey had been pecking at it.

In a video, which has gained more than 573,000 likes, she shared the note, which said: "Hi! I live across from where your car is parked and I just watched (and recorded) a massive turkey attack your car for over 15 mins!

"It looks pretty scratched up. I tried to scare it away but it ignored me. Not sure what insurance coverage there is for car turkey attacks, but if it's helpful I can send you the video I have."

She then showed the footage that her neighbour had sent her, showing the animal tapping its beak on the side of her vehicle. At one point the wild bird jumped against it's own reflection in the shiny black paint.

A woman was heard gasping with shock at she captured the bizarre incident with her phone camera. Alicia has since uploaded the footage to TikTok, with the caption: "Moves to Boston… Gets Car Attacked by a Turkey… was not on my list of things to be prepared for in the city…"

Viewers were left in stitches as they took to the comments to poke fun at the bizarre incident. One user said: "If there wasn’t video evidence, I’d have thought they made it up after hitting your car."

Another added: "He's def beefing with his reflection," as a third commented: "The way my JAW DROPPPED after seeing the damage. I was not expecting it to be so bad." Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Please tell us what the insurance company says lmaooo ."
