BRITAIN has been forecast freezing wintery conditions for the next week and the latest Met Office weather map has shown where and when snow will fall across the United Kingdom.

The latest Met Office weather forecast map shows where in the UK is likely to see snowfall this weekend and into next week.
The Met Office chart looks at the weather hitting Britain on Monday and Tuesday and shows what regions of Britain will see snow.
A vertical undulating line dividing the UK splits Britain in the Met Office’s chart with the east having a “high chance of snow showers, settling in places”.
To the west of the UK, the Met Office forecast “mostly dry on Monday” with a “chance of snow showers on Tuesday”.

Elderly and vulnerable people have been warned to take care in the freezing and wintery conditions.
Intense and heavy snowfall could bring the most crippling snowfall to south Britain since the winter of 2009/10.
Met Office chief forecaster Paul Gundersen said: “From late Monday afternoon, snow showers may become aligned into bands pushing into parts of southeast England.
“Where this occurs there is the potential for accumulations of five to 10 centimetres.
“Snow showers may become persistent from late Monday afternoon, continuing overnight and throughout Tuesday.”
