UK storm maps show exact date 649-mile rain bomb hammers Brits from top to bottom
Millions of Brits are predicted to be hit by heavy rain in early September.

Summer is set to come to an abrupt end for millions of Brits in September, with heavy rain predicted from Cowes on the Isle of Wight to Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.
According to online forecaster WX Charts, a 649-mile band of rain could arrive in the UK at 6am on September 9. The radar from the forecaster suggests the heaviest areas of rain will be in north-west England and Scotland. London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Belfast are all set for a drenching, as per the radar, with only patches of East Anglia and the far south-west of England escaping the downpours.

According to the Met Office's long-range forecast, early September may see heavy rain. However, the forecast does not specify exactly when the deluge will arrive. It said: "Changeable and unsettled weather conditions are expected across the UK during this period with low pressure systems tending to dominate the overall pattern.
"This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect the majority of the UK at times. Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west.
"Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier and more settled weather are also possible at times. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells."
