UK weather maps show Brits in for warm 25C mini 'heatwave' in September—full list of areas
Forecasters expect temperatures to soar in the early weeks of September thanks to a wave of warmer air coming in from the continent.
Brits are crossing their fingers for a sizzling start to September as forecasters predict plenty of dry and settled weather, which could lead to a new mini-heatwave.
The latest weather maps by WXCharts indicate that, on September 8, the southeast could see temperatures hitting 27C, with central and eastern England enjoying mid-20Cs.
Meanwhile, northern regions and parts of north Wales can expect low 20Cs, and Scotland will likely experience temperatures in the high teens.
Maps show coastal areas in Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset and northern parts of Somerset and Devon will experience the hottest conditions with highs of 25C.
For the period from September 8 to 22, the Met Office predicts: "Early September will likely offer a good deal of dry and settled weather across the UK, with high pressure generally dominating.
"Some rain is possible at times, but for many areas, conditions will probably be drier than average.
"During the second week of September confidence for this settled weather continuing decreases.
"Instead, it is more likely that there will be a return to a mixture of weather types, with spells of wet weather interspersed with drier periods.
"After a possibly warm start to September, temperatures will gradually revert to being cooler in the northwest, and return to nearer average in the southeast."
However, before we see this change, weather maps are turning red hot this week, with August 29 predicted to be the hottest day, as temperatures in the southeast could soar to a scorching 32C.

A map from WXCharts reveals that much of eastern England will bask in temperatures around the 30C mark, while further west it will be slightly cooler but still a balmy mid-20Cs for central and northwestern parts of England.
Even in the far north of Scotland, the mercury could hit 20C, although it will be cooler in the eastern coastal areas.
BBC weather experts also anticipate a warm beginning to the upcoming month.
Their forecast for September 2 to September 8 reads: "Temperatures could remain above or even well above the seasonal average at first."
However, they predict a shift towards "wetter and windier again" conditions as the month advances.
