UK hot weather: Maps show when Britain will reach balmy 16C after bleak start to April
April may not be getting off to a flying start, but it won't be long until spring has sprung.
The daffodils are here, the skies are a touch clearer, and the mercury is slowing rising. Spring appears to be on its way and Brits across the country will likely be toasting the brighter conditions.
However, the UK won't be sailing into sunnier climes without one last kick back from winter. A bleak start to the month will likely see plenty of rain and chilly temperatures, before the picnic weather arrives.
By April 6, the first Saturday of the month, large swathes of the country may see temperatures as high as 16C.
According to forecaster WX Charts, an area starting just north of Birmingham and finishing slightly north of London, could see 16C in the early evening on April 6. Perfect for sitting in a beer garden or reclining in the park with a good book.
And it's not like the rest of the country is predicted to remain cold. London and the south east could see 15C, as could Manchester and the north west. Likewise the south west could see 14C, according to WX Charts.
However, it is worth noting that WX Charts' forecasts are long-range and are highly changeable. As such, predictions from the forecaster should be taken with some caution.
In fact, despite the balmy temperatures, April is still expected to be rainy in parts. According to the Met Office, the weather will remain unsettled. The forecaster said: "All areas are likely to see further rain or showers at times, with some drier spells in between".
