Storm Eunice damage in pictures: Cars crushed & trees ripped from roots by 90mph gusts
Express.co.uk brings you the latest Storm Eunice damage pictures as the barelling vortex makes its way across Britain, bringing 90mph winds, snow and heavy rain.
Storm Eunice is sweeping across the UK after hitting the south coast earlier on Friday. With attractions closing, travel disruption and a major incident declared in some areas, people across the country have been urged to stay indoors.
The Met Office has issued two rare red weather warnings, saying gusts in the most exposed coastal areas "could be in excess of 90mph, which would bring significant impacts for many and represent a danger to life".
Elsewhere amber warnings are also in place, "with 60-70mph gusts likely for many, and 80mph in a few places".
Chief Meteorologist Paul Gundersen said: “After the impacts from Storm Dudley for many on Wednesday, Storm Eunice will bring damaging gusts in what could be one of the most impactful storms to affect southern and central parts of the UK for a few years.”
With the storm now beginning to hit with its full force, damage and destruction is being wrought across the UK, with trees being lifted clear from the ground and dumped on cars in staggering footage.
