Met Office weather: UK set for sun and scattered showers
The Met Office explained the rain will remain going into the weekend however it will be noticeably less frequent and intense. Met Office meteorologist Mark Wilson added the rain will continue to cover the UK but temperatures will likely rise on Sunday. He said: “It is another day of sunny spells and scattered showers on Friday.
“Unless like recent days today the showers shouldn’t be quiet as heavy or as frequent.
“A lot of low cloud for the Northern Isles, quite a murky start to the day here.
“The odd shower already from the word go on eastern Scotland and eastern England.
“But elsewhere across the rest of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England, we get off to a mainly dry start on Friday morning just one or two isolated mist and fog patches.
JUST IN: Britain to bake in weekend scorcher as blistering sunshine returns
“There will be plenty of sunshine through the morning but I think gradually as we head to lunchtime more cloud building as of recent days and that cloud could be thick enough to give a few showers in Scotland, Northern and eastern parts of England.”
The Met Office meteorologist continued to emphasise the showers are likely to be scattered and less intense than the last few days.
The heavy rain in the Midlands this week resulted in heavy flooding for some areas as the slow-moving showers caused travel disruption and damage to homes and businesses.
Mr Wilson added: “With light winds, it should feel very warm indeed.
BBC weather: Flash floods and storms set to hit Europe
“Highs of 24 or 25C in the south even further north in across Glasgow and Belfast highs there into the low 20s so pleasantly warm if you are in the sunshine.”

She said: “For Saturday into Sunday we will continue to see a feed of the showers just moving in front he west, however, there will be some subtle changes.
