London station EVACUATED after MASKED GUNMEN open fire - one hurt
A SHOOTING in London has seen St James Street train station in Walthamstow sealed off by heavily-armed police. Witnesses reported seeing masked gunmen pursue a man to the station before shooting him in the leg.
Police officers have rushed to St James Street station in Walthamstow after the incident.
They said masked gunmen had pursued a man to the station before shooting him in the leg.
Police confirmed one man had been hospitalised after being shot in the leg.
Met Police said: "Police were called at around 13:40hrs on Friday, 13 July to reports of a shooting on St James Street in Waltham Forest, E17.
"Officers attended and found a man being looked after by staff within St James Street Overground Station.
"The victim, believed to be aged in his early 20s, had one gunshot wound to his lower leg.
"The LAS also attended and took the victim to hospital where he remains.
"We await an update on his condition, but at this stage it not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"No weapon has been recovered at this time.
"No arrests, enquiries continue.

Transport for London's London Overground Twitter account said: "St James Street station is closed while the police respond to an incident."
