Kidnap ordeal left me too frightened to sleep
KIDNAPPED model Chloe Ayling has told how she suffered from night terrors after her six-day ordeal. The mother of one was held captive after being lured to Italy in July last year with the promise of a lucrative photo shoot that turned out to be fake.
Her kidnapper, Polish-born Lukasz Herba, 30, was jailed for 16 years by an Italian court last month.
Chloe, 20, told ITV’s This Morning: “For the first few months after I got back I wasn’t sleeping well because I was paranoid something would happen at night.
“I still wasn’t 100 per cent convinced there wasn’t a bigger organisation involved in my kidnap. So I would stay up all night while my mum slept and then we would take it in turns to sleep because I was frightened something would happen.
“Gradually I’ve started to travel more and come out of my shell. I think talking about it helps me instead of shutting myself away.”
Asked if she could ever forgive Herba, she replied: “No, never.”
Appearing on the show to promote her book Kidnapped, she said it was a chance to give her side of the story.
And she hinted it could be turned into a series on Netflix, saying: “It’s a possibility.”
