A WILLY WONKA style poker promotion is giving beginners the chance to play the very best in the world - and win millions of pounds.

And now the world’s biggest poker company, The Stars Group, has announced a $9million lucky ticket giveaway which will give players of all abilities the chance to compete for one of the richest prizes in the game’s history.
From January PokerStars will give away hundreds of packages worth $30,000, known as Platinum Passes, to players on its website.
Each pass will give the winner free entry into a new $25,000-a-head tournament in the Bahamas, plus free accommodation at the plush Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and $2,000 in cash towards travel costs.

The new event - the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship - will be the richest-ever $25,000 live event in the history of the game.
Veteran poker pro Daniel Negreanu said: “I’m super excited about the Players No Limit Hold’em Championship.
“This is going to be an incredible experience for those who participate and everyone, no matter their skill level, has a chance to win a Platinum Pass. It will be a must play event with loads of added value.”
Players who win a platinum pass will earn a seat at the tournament which will take place in the Bahamas January 6–10, 2019.

The Stars Group is giving away an estimated $8 million worth of free tournament packages and contributing an additional $1 million to the prize pool generated by entrants for first prize.
The first live UK tournament where players can win a Platinum Pass is in London between 23-29 January and then again at 'Megastack' live events in April, June and October, all which have a £200 buy-in.
