A WEALTHY antiques dealer who is accused of killing his seven-year-old daughter strangled her with a dressing gown cord, a court heard yesterday.

Robert Peters was arrested at his £1million home after the child, named Sophia, was found with “critical injuries”.
She was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead the following day.
Peters, 55, was initially charged with attempted murder and had appeared in court while Sophia was still alive.
He is now set to be charged with murder, the Old Bailey was told yesterday.

A court order originally banning the media from identifying Sophia while she was fighting for her life has now been lifted.
Police and paramedics were called to Peters’ house in Raynes Park, south-west London, around 8am on Friday.
Neighbours saw Sophia being taken away from the detached home on a stretcher.
Peters was later seen escorted from the property by police.

He made a four-minute appearance before Wimbledon magistrates on Saturday and was remanded in custody.
The businessman is next due to appear at Kingston Crown Court, west London, next month.
Peters has not yet entered a plea and was not in court for the administrative hearing yesterday.
Sophia was pronounced dead the following day
Sophia’s devastated mother Kittiya Promsat, originally from Thailand, posted a tribute to her on Facebook, saying: “I love you a lot and love you forever sweetheart.”
A specialist in Chinese porcelain, Peters runs an antiques business with his twin Richard in Kensington, west London.
Companies House records show he had business assets worth £1.3million last year.
