Hugh Grant urged people to campaign against Theresa May during an on-air outburst against the Conservative leader.
Mr Grant accused Theresa May of “extraordinary treachery” after abandoning a Conservative commitment on press regulation in her election manifesto.
During an appearance on ITV, Mr Grant expressed his disgust at the thought of Theresa May leading the country for the next five years.
TV host Robert Peston grilled the actor and ripped into the liberal luvvie's behaviour as "snobbish and demeaning".

The actor, known for films such as Notting Hill, has become the celebrity face of the anti-media intrusion campaign group Hacked Off.
During his interview on Peston on Sunday, he protested against the Conservatives and voiced his "unbelievable anger" at the Prime Minister.
The 56-year-old, himself the subject of headlines about his private life, had earlier tweeted: "I mean for f*** sake. Are we really facing 5 years of this demented little Rotarian?"
Peston took issue with this remark, calling it childish and a move that "belittles the conversation".

But Mr Grant, who appeared visibly furious, refused to back down, saying: "We were promised by the last Conservative Prime Minister, both in Parliament and to our faces, that Leveson would continue.
"And now this PM for short political gain throws it all away.
"She is trying to suck up, just to get the media on her side, to get herself good headlines, to get herself elected.
"It’s an act of extraordinary treachery.”

He said the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso), the watchdog set up in the wake of 2014’s Leveson Inquiry, had "not actually done any regulating at all".
A review last year found that Ipso was an effective regulator that is taken “very seriously” by editors.
Former civil servant Sir Joseph Pilling’s review said there "no evidence" Ipso was being influenced by the press.
