'EU has MORE to offer' Financial expert DESTROYS front of the free trade queue 'daydream'
A FINANCIAL expert has branded the idea of a post-Brexit Britain being at the front of any free trade deal queues as "ridiculous".
Financial expert blasts idea UK will be front of queue for trade deal
George Parker, who writes for the Financial Times, ripped into the Government's post-Brexit policy during a heated debate on BBC Radio 5Live.
Host John Pienaar brought up the fact that Britain had once boasted of being at the front of the queue with the Trump administration in the US.
However, recent reports have seen the European Union usurp Theresa May in the queue for a priority free trade agreement.
On top of this, Australia have also suggested that a free trade deal with the EU will be tied up before a British deal starts.

During the discussion, the Spectator's Katy Balls played this down, saying it was just speculation that had not been confirmed.
She said Theresa May was Donald Trump's first State visit and pointed to Paul Ryan's recent support for the deal.
However, the FT journalist then jumped in to rail against the claim as deluded optimism.

Trump has realised that the EU is more lucrative for free trade
To think the EU comes second in the queue because of some warm-hearted view of Theresa May and Britain is ridiculous
Mr Parker told Pienaar: "The US and the EU are already halfway down the track negotiating a massive trade deal.
"This deal would be between the world’s biggest economy and the world’s biggest trading bloc."
He added: "To think that comes second in the queue because of some warm-hearted view of Theresa May and Britain is ridiculous."
This comes after Wilbur Ross, the US Commerce Secretary, recently said a deal with the UK was a low priority.

He cited the upcoming General Election and negotiations between the UK and Europe as complicating factors.
A source close to the White House reportedly said this week that the Trump administration had come to a "realisation" that a deal with the EU was more important to US interests than a post-Brexit deal with Britain.
Back in January, Boris Johnson claimed the UK was “first in line” for a free trade deal with the US after the new president took office.
