THIEVES ram-raided a luxury Louis Vuitton store in Leeds last night just yards from Harvey Nichols to make off with goods worth thousands of pounds.
Car smashed after thieves ram-raid Louis Vuitton store in Leeds
The Louis Vuitton store’s shop front was completely destroyed after a Subaru car was repeatedly reversed into the window display.
Police have revealed the break in occurred at around 9pm last night in Briggate, Leeds, just yards away from luxury department store Harvey Nichols.
Although officers rushed to the scene, the crooks were still able to make off with thousands of pounds worth of goods.
The Leeds shop was totally ransacked in the theft
The criminals were forced to leave the car behind - with pictures taken at the scene revealing extensive damage to the rear of the silver car.
Shocking photographs also show glass and rubble scattered over the pedestrianised street, with the inside of the designer shop having been ransacked.
Police have now cordoned off the area surrounding the designer store, and investigations continue.

This morning, police had left the scene and workmen were attempting to repair the damage caused.
The shelves inside the store were almost completely bare with just a few small bags and purses left on display.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A number of men had been seen to repeatedly reverse a Subaru car into the shop to ram their way in before stealing items on display.
"They then left the scene in a second vehicle, leaving the damaged Subaru behind and the whole front of the shop destroyed.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and detectives from Leeds District CID would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.

The Suburo car was left abandoned
The Subaru was able to race down the empty pedestrianised street with ease before crashing into the store front.
And many fear the route could now be used in an attack similar to that saw in London last month after a car ploughed into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge.
One Twitter user said: “Somewhat a worry if you drive a vehicle along Briggate & it's side roads without question given recent events.”
