The former Ukip leader spoke of the impromptu meal with the billionaire tycoon after he missed his flight while staying at one of the President’s hotels.
Despite controversy surrounding President Trump’s first month in office, after he introduced a travel ban on seven majority Muslim countries, Mr Farage said his host was a man of “extraordinary moral courage”.
Speaking on his LBC show, he said: “I was in Washington on Saturday, I visited the White House on Saturday afternoon and caught up with some people there that I know.

He was witty, he was humorous and he is a very very brave man. Like him, dislike him. I promise you, Trump's a good guy
“I got delayed and I missed my flight and I was in the Trump hotel with a member of staff having a drink and there’s a commotion and in comes Donald Trump and [he] says to me ‘what are you doing here?’ and I said ‘I’m staying here, you told me these hotels are good’ – he said ‘you’d better come and join us for dinner’ – so I did.”
The Brexit campaigner hailed the President for his resilience despite being under “the most extraordinary pressure”.
“I won’t tell you a single word of what was said at that dinner because I believe in confidentiality,” he said.

“But I will tell you this, that for a guy who is under the most extraordinary pressure and barriers – [with] people trying to stop him doing what he wants to do – what I saw was a man of extraordinary moral courage.
“He believes it’s his duty as he was elected as President to put those policies into action.”
Mr Farage then touched on comparisons made between the US leader and Ronald Regan.
He said: “People say is he another Ronnie Regan – no, he’s more of a Margaret Thatcher. He’s driven and he wants to do these things and he was, I have to tell you, in the most extraordinary form.
