Made from hard glass-like plastic it still holds the regular 750ml but in a flattened, elongated shape.
And a protective cardboard box means it will not break when it tumbles on to the door mat.
The idea, by London-based Garcon Wines, won a £20,000 prize after seeing off competition from 11 other budding businesses on the US Dragon’s Denstyle TV show, Pop Up Start Up.
Garcon Wines now aims to launch the UK’s first subscription based “wine by post” service in the spring.

“The bottle feels very nice in your hand, with similar rigidity and clarity.”
