BOMB SCARE IN APPLEBY: Police swoop after suspected explosive discovered
A BOMB disposal team has been drafted in after a suspected explosive device was found in a northern town.

Police rushed to a house in Bongate, Appleby, after receiving reports a suspected bomb had been discovered.
The device was found just after midday on August 12, outside the address.
Officers have set up a 300m cordon around the scene as a precaution.


They are urging the public to avoid the area for their own safety.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit is at the scene and assessing the device.
