A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting another man with a crossbow.

Leo Michaels, 35, was arrested after police were called to a rural property around 8am on Saturday following reports of a man with a crossbow.
Officers attended Millcroft Farm near Dawlish along with an ambulance crew.
Alleged victim Lee Hewitt, aged 24, was treated at the scene for a serious arm injury.
He was initially taken to Torbay District Hospital but later transferred to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Police said his injuries, which are consistent with being shot with a crossbow, are described as potentially life-changing.
Michaels was remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court in August
A number of weapons, including a crossbow, were seized at the property.
Michaels, from Dawlish was charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent.

He appeared at Torquay Magistrates Court on Monday 18th July and was remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on 18th August 2016.
Police confirmed both men are known to each other.
