A TORY former housing chief has admitted being a dodgy landlord after his OWN council mounted a prosecution against him
Former housing chief Jonny Bucknell has admitted to being a dodgy landlord
Controversial Jonny Bucknell, 58, admitted failing to carry out necessary improvements on a home he rents out following action by the Labour-run Camden Council.
The Conservative, formerly the Conservatives' housing spokesperson, previously found himself in hot water for eating a roast duck dinner in the north London council chamber.
He appeared at Highbury Magistrates' Court on Thursday to plead guilty to the offence but asked for more time to defend himself before he is sentenced.
Bucknell represented himself over the home in posh Primrose Hill, north London.
A Camden Council spokesperson said: "He pleaded guilty to failing to comply with an improvement notice.
"Councillor Bucknell asked for more time to prepare his mitigation and the case was adjourned.
The home in question was in the posh Primrose Hill area of North London
Bucknell will be sentence on January 21
"Camden only takes criminal proceedings after it has carefully considered the facts of each case and considers that it is in the public interest to do so.
"We won't be adding anything further until the sentence has taken place."
He will be sentenced on January 21 for failing to comply with an improvement notice to carry out specified works on a tenanted property in poor repair condition.
The Primose Hill area is a desirable location for many Londoners
