Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire has been crowned the best hidden gem for a staycation in the country.

While it might not have the Instagram fame of other tourist hotspots, the picturesque seaside village is packed with charm, making it a must-see destination for those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

According to research by finance experts at Aqua, Robin Hood’s Bay is the top hidden gem for a staycation.

Despite its beauty, the village only sees 2,400 Google searches a month and has around 107,859 Instagram posts, which is a pretty low number for a place with so much to offer.

The experts said that sometimes the best places are those that aren’t flooded with social media tags, allowing visitors to relax and explore somewhere a bit more off the beaten path.

Robin Hood’s Bay is a charming village with unique scenery. From its quaint shops to cosy cafes and traditional pubs, there’s plenty for visitors to do.

But what really sets it apart are the scenic walking and cycling paths that surround the area, offering stunning views of the Yorkshire coast.

Visitors can choose from a variety of different activities including hiking along the cliff tops or cycling through the nearby countryside.

The village’s location also makes it a great base for exploring nearby towns like Whitby and Scarborough.

This means that whether visitors are after a relaxing beach day or an activity-filled diary, they’re in the right place.

And, for those who love a bit of history, the narrow streets and old cottages of Robin Hood’s Bay add even more to its appeal.

The experts added that other staycation spots worth a visit include The New Forest and Malvern, which took second and third place in the study.

The New Forest is known for its free-roaming horses and gorgeous walking trails, while Malvern, at the foot of the Malvern Hills, is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty perfect for walkers and cyclists.
