Wizard! Harry Potter fans unite for spell in record book
THAT’S magic... 512 schoolchildren smash the world record for the most dressed like Harry Potter in one place.
Spectacle... it’s Harry mania for Horsham students
The record, which previously stood at 250 Harrys, was broken on World Book Day when children dress as a favourite literary character.
The pupils, aged 11 to 13 at Tanbridge House secondary school in Horsham, West Sussex, brandished wands and donned Harry’s glasses and uniform, all topped off with wizard hats.
It’s all about celebrating reading
Organiser Ben Baker said: “It’s all about celebrating reading and in the past we’ve always dressed up.
"We’ve been working on it for the past couple of months and had to draft in parents and helpers.
“Don’t underestimate how long it takes to make 512 wands, hats and accessories.”
