Brits head for sunshine holidays as more snow blows in
THE bleak weather has triggered a surge in winter sun seekers.
Holiday firms yesterday reported a flood of last-minute bookings as winter looks set to return.
Forecasters say more snow is on the way, with temperatures of -15C (5F).
Asda Travel said lastminute bookings were up over 70 per cent on last year. Across the UK, bookings are up 38 per cent in the past five weeks.

Nick Cockerill, of Asda Travel, said: “It seems this latest spell of icy weather has prompted Brits to jet off earlier than usual.”
Jonathan Powell, of Vantage Weather Services, said: “The cold will be driven by some biting easterly winds, which could push temperatures as low as -15C.
There is the risk of snow, primarily in the East and South-east.”
