Luxury UK construction company crashes into liquidation – 40 shepherd huts a year
The company, which was founded in 2019, has appointed a liquidator after falling into debt.

A British company that produced luxury shepherd's huts has plunged into administration after being in business for seven years. Dicky Deans, based in Sussex, designed the eco-friendly huts for rent as Airbnb properties, home offices or extra living spaces that could be delivered across the UK.
The company, owned by Dicky and Helen Deans, created around 40 of the bespoke huts every year but has now collapsed into creditors' voluntary liquidation after falling into debt. Richard Marchinton, of Conselia Limited, has been appointed liquidator as Dicky Deans ceases trading and liquidates assets. According to official records on The Gazette, the appointment was made on Wednesday, April 29 and lists High Street, Lewes, as the firm's registered office.
Dicky Deans was known for producing a range of bespoke and traditional shepherd's huts. Each hut was hand-built with options for custom layouts and exterior colours.
The models available included The Cuddle, a 14ft by 8ft traditional hut, and the Hug which spanned 20ft by 9ft. Meanwhile, The Embrace, 26ft by 9ft, offered space for a king-size bed and roll-top bath.
Every hut featured wool insilation and oak axle wheels. They also had handcrafted kitchens while some boasted log burners or underfloor heating.

The offices were used as holiday lets and Airbnb properties, offices, guest rooms and relaxation spaces. They were particularly popular as birthday presents or second holiday homes.
According to Great British Life, co-owner Dicky came up with the idea of making shepherd's huts after spending two years living in a static caravan. He enjoyed the freedom and connection with nature that it offered him.
However, after starting as a business in 2019, Dicky Deans has now plunged into liquidation. The website is currently unavailable with a message reading: "Sorry, we're doing some work on the site. Thank you for being patient. We are doing some work on the site and will be back shortly."
Dicky Deans have been approached for comment.
