Halifax to close 25 branches in June including Manchester and Liverpool - full list

During this year and next, Halifax has earmarked 46 sites for closure, with customers being urged to check the status of their bank.

Halifax is set to close 25 branches during June, including in cities such as London, Liverpool and Manchester. The latest wave of closures forms part of the continued decline of high street banking across the UK, as more customers switch to online and mobile banking services. Communities in England and Wales will be affected, with branches in towns, cities and London districts all scheduled to shut their doors throughout the month.

Among the areas losing a Halifax branch in June are Ashington, Bridgend, Croydon, Manchester, Liverpool and several parts of London. Some closures are taking place just days apart, with a number of branches set to close during the first two weeks of the month.

Banks have argued that falling footfall and changing customer habits are driving the decision to reduce branch networks. However, campaigners and customers have repeatedly raised concerns about the impact on elderly people, vulnerable customers and those who still rely on face-to-face banking services.

The June closures represent more than half of all Halifax branch shutdowns currently scheduled for 2026 and 2027, Money Saving Express reports.
